"Tracking why schools need to take another route"
I haven't done a blog about responding to a peers blog yet so I am going to do it this week since I know that Emily is ahead of all her blogs! The first article is about how they tracked two schools. Some parents are for keeping track of students scores because they want their kids to be successful.
I basically agree with everything that Emily says. I totally think that tracking students is so unfair. I agree that they probably will end up quitting school and they probably will feel like such a failure. If parents just minded their own business and gave their child some space it would be a lot easier for the kid. The parents are just stressing out their child.
I agree with Emily that college is not for everyone. I hate school myself, I am not good at it, I work my butt of for my good grades. I think of how much I hate school and how much I work my butt off some days I feel like just quitting some days. But then I look back at what I have so far and I already have my associates degree that I never even think I would have received. I am also a head teacher already in a classroom doing what I love best. I am just continuing school so I can get my bachelors degree be able to get paid a little bit more than I am now, and to maybe move to a better and well public school one day in a preschool classroom.
To answer Emily's question.
Do you think education should be important in finding a job.
I don't think that education should be important at all. If you want to go to get a education so you can move up on the list at a job or to get paid more than minimum wage I think that's when college should be a option. I have taken so many child classes in order to graduate college for my degree and to be honest I don't remember what I learn in classes. Like obviously the main stuff, and But again, everyone is different I learn all my stuff with being hands on and working at my job. I learned how to lesson plan not even in college yet, i was in high school when I started writing lesson plans, and I have not yet had to make one out yet in college. But here I am every month making lessons for my children making sure they go with the Rhode Island Early Learning Developmental Standards.

Marissa, great job! Interesting response to Emily’s question. I agree that most practical knowledge for a job comes from hands on practice. I can see why taking certain classes is important, but others just don’t seem as relevant. For example, instead of taking gen eds if all education students were in a classroom observing constantly imagine how much more successful we could be! Great job this week.
