Shor made some really good points in this article, But I wasn't interested in it while reading it. It was pretty Blah and not that interesting, it was a hard article to get thru as I was reading it, it didn't keep my interest. What I found interesting was when it said Primary grade teachers, devote time to problems of socialization. One of the things I didn't really realize until I read this article was that the most important things that children learn are NOT the 3 R's, its socialization. I agree with the author that one good way to start off the school year is asking students why we go to school? For High Schoolers and middle schoolers teachers should be asking this, I was asked it like every year in the beginning of school years. Then as I got older we had to write a paragraph or a paper on why do we go to school and why is it important. It Shows students that they can trust you.
