Aria and teaching multilingual Children Blog number 3 Argument These authors both argue that speaking two languages in households is a good thing and it needs to happen. According in Richards’s article in Aria, the three nuns that went to a house to ask parents if they only spoke Spanish to their children while at home seemed to be upset that they only spoke to their child in Spanish at home. I don’t know why they would be so upset that they only speak Spanish with them at home. It’s how they are raising them. Maybe the parents don’t know English that well. Why should nuns go out of their way to go to a house to speak to a child’s parents? If a child can’t pick up on English at school there’s programs at school that can help the child learn more English than their parents know. They probably only know a few words i...
Johnathan Kozol Amazing Grace Thinking Piece number 2 Reflection                   This was an interesting article to read about New York. I always loved New York, but never really knew or thought about the atmosphere. It’s really interesting how they said from Manhattan to the South Bronx. that your one of the richest when you jump onto that train to go there, but by the time you leave your one of the poorest. It’s pretty sad to be reading about these children who go to church just to get food, comfort and to play, as their parents are praying at the church. It’s said to be that they are the poorest people in New York. I never knew that poor people go to church to pray.                 I honestly think that it’s a really good idea for children to receive free/reduced lunches. I have some poor families in the ce...

Kristof Article Blog #3 This article was interesting to read. It mentioned a lot of different topics such as how parent’s incomes matter to their future children’s incomes. Which I agree to this article but then I don’t. I know families who have kids and their income are better than what their parent’s income was. It also talks about a dead man named Rick and talked about how his life was an uphill struggle from birth. He was smart, talented, and hard working. He died of a heart disease. The writer of the article went t...
