Argument : teaching children multlingual children
Aria and teaching multilingual Children Blog number 3 Argument These authors both argue that speaking two languages in households is a good thing and it needs to happen. According in Richards’s article in Aria, the three nuns that went to a house to ask parents if they only spoke Spanish to their children while at home seemed to be upset that they only spoke to their child in Spanish at home. I don’t know why they would be so upset that they only speak Spanish with them at home. It’s how they are raising them. Maybe the parents don’t know English that well. Why should nuns go out of their way to go to a house to speak to a child’s parents? If a child can’t pick up on English at school there’s programs at school that can help the child learn more English than their parents know. But then I can see why the nuns were mad that they only speaking Spanish to them at home. When they are at school most likely their teacher doesn’t know Spanish.
